Thank you for choosing Golden Umbrella Bed and Breakfast! Our comfortable Home-Stay bed & breakfast is located in the Birch Hill Recreation Area (Birch Hill Cross Country Ski Center) — on the east side of Fairbanks City. It takes about 2 mins drive from our place to the Birch Hill Cross Country Ski Center. Our house hidden in the woods in a peaceful residential area, yet benefits from a variety of local amenities and easy access to all parts of the city.

There is no steep slope near AK Golden Umbrella B&B, make it pretty easier for driving in winter. We just off Steese Express Highway, the only pass for everyone who goes to Arctic Circle, Chena Hot Spring and the famous aurora observation points Cleary Summit.

Meet your B&B host

Hi. My name is JUNE S LAN. I am the owner of AK Golden Umbrella Bed & Breakfast. I was born in China, immigrated to the United States of America in 2001 and have called Fairbanks home since 2006. I enjoy meeting people from every part of the globe and strive to provide a welcoming, restful, quiet and fun filled atmosphere here at the Golden Umbrella. How to reach Mrs. June and Staff (if you need anything after checked in):
Your host Mrs. June or a helper are generally available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. for assistance. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you need anything for your room! We want to make your stay great! Please call Mrs. June at (907)687-7131 if you need help. There is a land-line in our living room; you are welcome to use it to phone her.

Your breakfast:
Each morning, continental breakfast is served before 8:00 o’clock. Hot, full breakfast served out at 8:00am in summer (9:00am in winter). If you don’t get to the table at breakfast time (8:00 in summer and 9:00am in winter), we will keep your breakfast in a warmer for one more hour (until 9:00 in summer and 10:00 in winter). Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.Please be courteous and quiet if you’re coming in after 10 p.m. If you are wide awake at 3-6 a.m., which happens frequently with time zone changes, please help other guests get a full night’s sleep by limitation any disturbance.See policies and house rules.

Everything is spread out in Fairbanks area, Public Transportation is inconvenient, and taxis would be expensive due to the distances. There are a lot of advantages in renting a car—in terms of keeping both costs down and your options open. For sightseeing or other activities in Fairbanks, having a car can give you freedom and flexibility. Fairbanks is the gateway to Alaska and a great place to orient oneself to a far north vacation! We feel your best option would be to spend 3 or 4 days in Fairbanks. Allow at least 2 full days to experience some of what Fairbanks has to offer, from river trips to museums, gold mining to Flight-seeing, sight-seeing to shopping.
